Last April we participated in The Oxfam Intermon Trailwalker challenge, a sporting charity challenge which requires teams to complete 100KM in a maximum of 32 hours, with the aim of raising money to fight against poverty and improve access to water.

At this year’s event, teams from the ELIX Polymers decided to take up the challenge and went to Girona in order to participate in this unique event. The two ELIX Trailwalker teams trained for months in preparation and collected donations, which were donated to the 400-plus projects Oxfam is currently working on worldwide, amongst these providing access to water to those most in need.

These types of initiatives, related to social corporate responsibility, help to strengthen working relationships and reinforce our company values. The participants from both teams considered that participating successfully provided a tool for team building, creating a positive atmosphere and improving working relationships, furthermore, developing leadership and team-working.
