ELIX Polymers collaborates in a Sports Charity Event against childhood cancer
ELIX Polymers, the leading global thermoplastics manufacturer, has joined the fight against childhood cancer. Last weekend, 18 and 19 December 2021, the company took part in a Sports Charity Event organised by CLUB ESPORTIU TARRACO WARRIORS (a martial arts school in Tarragona) to raise funds for the AFANOC Childhood Cancer Association of Tarragona, as well as collect toys for the children belonging to the association and for hospitalised children, as part of the 2021 Christmas campaign.
A masterclass was held during the event focused on personal defence and bullying, with members of the club and children from the AFANOC Association of Tarragona. In addition, a team resistance test was broadcast live with streaming technology consisting of an uninterrupted 24-hour session of hitting the punching bag (the test was performed by club members and competitors), in which all those who watched donated funds directly into the bank account of the AFANOC Association of Tarragona.
The event lasted for 27 hours and 15 minutes and a total of €1,677 euros was raised through the different activities. All the funds are for charity and they will be paid to the AFANOC Childhood Cancer Association of Tarragona.
ELIX contributed as a sponsor of the T-shirts worn at the event. “It’s a pleasure for us to sponsor an event such as this. We at ELIX are constantly committed to promoting solidarity through actions that respond to the needs of the families in our area, and this charity event is a clear example of this commitment,” said Sergi Pérez, ELIX’s People & Internal Communication Responsible.
