ELIX Polymers presents safety award to service company Bilfinger
As part of its Safety Week, which took place between 24 and 28 April, ELIX Polymers presented the company Bilfinger Industrial Services Spain with the “2016 ELIX Safety Award”. This service company obtained the best score in the Safety KPI Performance, and the award is a recognition of its implementation of best practices in the area of prevention.
The criteria for choosing the winning company include aspects such as compliance with business activity coordination (BAC) document requirements, and the score obtained in an internal audit in terms of occupational risk prevention. The number of employees at the centre was also taken into account, as well as whether their presence is continuous or sporadic.
The award ceremony was attended by representatives from Bilfinger, regular ELIX Polymers service companies, and part of the ELIX Operations team.
Jan Van Asperen, CEO at Bilfinger, explained: “This award is very significant for us as we consider safety to be highly important. We are grateful for this award as it is a sign that our effort is paying off. We will strive to improve even further every day and we will be within the top 10 in safety again next year”.
David Castañeda, Operations Director at ELIX, concluded: “We’re not alone here. Every day, there are many people from other companies at our facilities, and it is their workplace too. These people are therefore also part of this safety culture we are committed to, and which we want to strengthen. And Bilfinger is a clear example of this shared commitment.”
