Since 2020, ELIX Polymers has been collaborating with the research institute POLYMAT, based in the Basque Country. As part of its R&D&I strategy, ELIX Polymers has strengthened this partnership by joining the consortium on polymerization in dispersed media. This strategic alliance aims to drive the development of new process technologies to enhance the performance of polymer materials, especially in the field of ABS.

POLYMAT is a leading center in polymer science, with a multidisciplinary approach and a strong track record of collaboration with over 100 companies, including both SMEs and large corporations. 

It leads a research program focused on polymer dispersions, combining fundamental science with innovative process strategies.

ELIX Polymers and POLYMAT have worked together on various projects related to emulsion processes for ABS development. This relationship was consolidated with ELIX’s entry into the consortium, allowing the company to actively participate in scientific decision-making through its representation on the program’s board.

Collaboration with latex producers and the consortium’s applied approach accelerate technology transfer and strengthen industrial competitiveness. This cooperation model exemplifies how process-oriented research can generate sustainable, high-value-added solutions for the polymer sector.
